'Republican for Trump': Alleged Kirk shooter's grandmother confirms entire family is MAGA
FBI Director Kash Patel said on "Fox & Friends" Monday that a note from conservative podcaster Charlie Kirk's alleged assassin Tyler Robinson stated: "I have the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and I'm going to take it"—but that note was destroyed.
"That note was written before the shooting," Patel claimed, even though there is no proof of such letter.
The lack of a physical letter didn't stop Patel from taking credit for finding it, saying, investigators "confirmed what that note says because of our aggressive interview posture at the FBI."
According to Utah Gov. Spencer Cox, Robinson is not being cooperative.
“He has not confessed to authorities. He is not cooperating, but all the people around him are cooperating,” Cox said during an interview on ABC’s This Week.
As for actual evidence of Robinson's involvement, Patel points to DNA on a towel and a screwdriver.
"I can report today that the DNA hits from the towel that was wrapped around the firearm and the DNA on the screwdriver are positively processed for the suspect in custody," Patel said.
