Tucker Carlson admits to inaccurate reporting on the war between Russia and Ukraine

In an extremely rare occurrence, Fox News' Tucker Carlson actually admitted that he was incorrect in his reporting. On Thursday, March 3, Carlson admitted that he was inaccurate in echoing the Kremlin's rhetoric defending the disturbing actions of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

However, Carlson quickly pivoted before taking responsibility for his blunder. The conservative news host attempted to distance from his own chaotic reporting as he claimed Russia's antagonism had come as a surprise despite months of warnings prior to the invasion. Instead, Carlson tried to point the finger at President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.

“The invasion of Ukraine already is a legitimate disaster for Europe and the world,” Carlson told his viewers. “We’ve been taken by surprise by the whole thing. We’re not the only ones who were. But we’re willing to admit it. The only thing more embarrassing than being wrong in your estimates is pretending that you weren’t.”

Carlson went on to criticize Harris' involvement in the White House's crisis response as he claimed that it undermines the severity of the problem.

“Why didn’t we see this coming, this total loss of control?” he asked. “Well, because we assumed that if things were dire, serious people would be involved in fixing them. But we looked up and we saw Kamala Harris involved, and that reassured us.”

He added, “If the future of Europe and the world hung in the balance, as now so obviously it does, of course, the Biden administration would not have sent Kamala Harris to fix it. That is absolutely not Kamala Harris’s job. That was our assumption. But, as noted, we were wrong.”
