Tucker Carlson teases 2024 presidential run then admits he was 'totally kidding': report
10 May 2023
Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson initially made an earth-shattering declaration that led to one journalist doing a double-take. However, after further inquiry, Carlson revealed the truth as he insisted that he's "fundamentally a d*ck."
Business Insider's Mattathias Schwartz recently shared details about his discussion with Carlson as he explained what initially seemed like a groundbreaking story.
On Tuesday, May 9, Schwartz asked the former far-right news host if he'd be running for president. Carlson offered a shocking response that immediately led to Schwartz asking for clarity.

"Yes," Carlson said of a possible run for president, adding, "Announcing Friday in New Hampshire."
Unfortunately for Schwartz, the thrill of having a breaking news story fizzled within minutes.
"But my earthshaking scoop was short-lived," Schwartz wrote. "After I credulously asked him to confirm that he was serious before I blasted out the news, which would reshape the 2024 presidential race, the former Fox News broadcaster confirmed what millions of Americans have already concluded: He's just an a--hole."
"Totally kidding," Carlson clarified. "Sorry. I can never control myself. I'm fundamentally a d*ck. My apologies."

Although it might seem like a stretch for Carlson to consider a presidential run, Schwartz explained why its actually not.
"My question about Carlson's possible presidential ambitions was not as far-fetched as it might sound. Speculation about a possible GOP primary run has followed Carlson for years," he explained. An April poll conducted after his ouster found that 59% of likely US voters had a favorable view of Carlson, higher than Fox News' favorability rating. And despite airing private misgivings about Trump, Carlson has been wielding power from behind the scenes in ways that further blur the line between his roles as commentator and political heavyweight."
