It isn't midnight on Jan. 1, but President Donald Trump was already celebrating by talking about polls lying about him.
"The polls are rigged even more than the writers," Trump wrote on Truth Social around 10pm EST. "The real number is 64%, and why not, our Country is 'hotter' than ever before. Isn’t it nice to have a STRONG BORDER, No Inflation, a powerful Military, and great Economy??? Happy New Year!"
The meme that Trump posted claims that his approval rating was 50 percent, and the bottom right corner cites The Trafalgar Group.
The December polls for Trump from The Trafalgar Group show that 46.7 percent strongly approve of Trump and 3.5 percent say they simply "approve" of the president.
The Media-Bias/Fact Check (MBFC), an independent website founded in 2015 by legal academic David E. Van Zandt, rank The Trafalgar Group as having "slight to moderately conservative in bias."
"They often publish factual information that utilizes loaded words (wording that attempts to influence an audience by appeals to emotion or stereotypes) to favor conservative causes," the site claims. They're given only "medium credibility."
A two-week poll from Gallup published Dec. 22 puts Trump's December approval rating at 36 percent. However, support among Republicans is 98 percent.
