A massive art installation calling attention to President Donald Trump's close relationship with Jeffrey Epstein is now on display across the street from the U.S. Capitol.
The New York Times reported Tuesday that the anonymous artist collective Secret Handshake has now erected a new display of the suggestive birthday card that Trump purportedly sent Epstein for his 50th birthday (Trump denies writing the message).
According to the Times, the group has a permit to show the exhibit on the National Mall through Friday.
The card's message — written in the outline of a female shape — imagines a conversation between Trump and Epstein, who are agreeing there is "more to life than having everything." In the message, one line of text from "Donald" reads: "We have certain things in common, Jeffrey." It ends with "Donald" telling his friend that "a pal is a wonderful thing," and the message: "May every day be another wonderful secret."
In a statement to the Times, White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson suggested without evidence that prominent Democratic donors paid for the display, saying: "Kudos to these Trump Deranged Liberals for constantly inventing new ways to light Democrat donor money on fire by spreading fake news."
Secret Handshake is also responsible for the Trump-Epstein Friendship Statue, which showed both Trump and Epstein smiling and holding hands. A plaque accompanying the statue read: "We celebrate the long-lasting bond between President Donald J. Trump and his 'closest friend' Jeffrey Epstein."
The Trump administration continues to be in violation of the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which gave the Department of Justice (DOJ) a December 19 deadline to release all remaining evidence and documents pertaining to Epstein's two federal investigations. As of this month, the DOJ has only released an estimated one percent of the Epstein files.
