On his way to the Middle East to take a victory lap for the Israel-Hamas ceasefire agreement, President Donald Trump complained about not receiving the Nobel Peace Prize again, saying the committe should have changed the rules for him, reports The Daily Beast.
Trump and MAGA were livid when the prize was given to María Corina Machadofor herfight against dictatorship in Venezuela and the president again complained that the Nobel Committee, which prepares its shortlist in March and requires nominees to be in by February 1, should make an exception for him.
“Now, in all fairness to the Nobel Committee, it was for 2024. This was picked for 2024,” Trump said on Air Force One. “But there are those that say you can make an exception because a lot of things happened during 2025 that are done and complete and great. But I did this not for Nobel; I did this for saving lives.”
On Thursday, Trump raged against President Barack Obama, who received the peace prize in 2009, saying, “he got the prize for doing nothing. He got elected, and they gave it to Obama for doing absolutely nothing but destroying our country."
Trump raged again on Monday, this time on his way to Israel, saying “This will be my eighth war that I’ve solved," despite experts saying he has 'solved' none. “I’m good at solving wars. I’m good at making peace, and it’s an honor to do it. I saved millions of lives. Millions of lives.”
He also added that he “got every one of those done for the most part within a day.”
Meanwhile, social media critics called him out for his inability to accept Nobel defeat.
"What’s 'stupidity' is Trump and the GOP whining about a Nobel Peace Prize he wasn’t even nominated for — that’s for 2026. The irony? He talks about 'peace' abroad while his entire brand runs on fueling division and profiting from it at home," wrote X user Jen Ro WTH America?
Racquel Morris sarcastically pondered on X, "Wow, so Trump came up short once again in his killer peace deals. I predicted the peace deal timing was a sham to help Trump get the Nobel Peace Prize. I said it would fall to pieces immediately after the winner was announced. So what does Trump do next to distract from the Epstein Files?"
"Trump directs ICE to disappear innocent people. These armed thugs are terrorizing the streets. This behaviour will never get him the coveted peace prize," wrote X user Anne Mercer.
