Former President Donald Trump on Easter lashed out at "cowards and weaklings" in the Republican Party.

In an Easter morning message, the former president expressed dissatisfaction with one Republican who is retiring early despite pleas from GOP leaders.

A source told The Washington Examiner that Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-WI) was retiring and has been in contact with House leadership "throughout this process, including before this decision was announced and his departure date was agreed upon."

"His decision has not changed," the source said.

Trumpshared a link to the article on his Truth Social platform.

"Never forget our cowards and weaklings!" he wrote. "Such a disgrace."

Some Republicans are angry at Gallagher for leaving House Republicans with a slim majority, particularly after it follows other resignations including that of Ken Buck (R-CO) who hit out at House"bickering and nonsense" as he declared he was leaving.

Gallagher has said he will retire on April 19 as planned.
