'He was fine with the sedition and the bigotry': CNN analyst torches Steve Bannon for his criticism of Trump

A CNN analyst recently slammed former White House advisor Steve Bannon for his criticism of former President Donald Trump's decision to market and sell NFT draft cards featuring his own face.

In wake of Trump's announcement, the former president has faced criticism from both sides of the political aisle -- and Bannon mentioned the debacle during the recent segment of his "War Room" podcast

Although Bannon described Trump as one of the "greatest presidents in history," he claimed Trump's current advisers should be fired for supporting his NFT effort.

“I can’t do this anymore,” Bannon said. “He’s one of the greatest presidents in history, but I gotta tell you: whoever, what business partner and anybody on the comms team and anybody at Mar-a-Lago – and I love the folks down there – but we’re at war. They oughta be fired today.”

During Monday night's segment of CNN Tonight, S.E. Cupp, a commentator for the news network, shared her reaction to Bannon's remarks.

“You can’t underestimate just how loyal a lot of his fans – but also his surrogates and supporters are,” she stated. “I just heard Steve Bannon say he’s out over the NFTs. He was fine with the sedition and the bigotry – the NFT was the bridge too far.”

While Bannon was critical of Trump, Cupp believes he will eventually “come back around.”

She also recalled former Vice President Mike Pence's ordeal with Trump. The two Republican leaders clashed when Pence refused to take any action to halt the certification of the 2020 presidential election results because he had no Constitutional authority to do so.

“You had Mike Pence just yesterday or today saying, ‘Well, gosh, I hope he isn’t indicted. That would just be a shame,'” she continued. “The guy’s supporters tried to kill you in the Capitol. Donald Trump did nothing to stop it. And you don’t think he should face any consequences?”

Cupp concluded by saying that Republican lawmakers and voters “will absolutely find ways to continue defending Donald Trump.”
