Watch: Stephen Colbert mocks Putin as the Russian military struggles to overtake Ukraine

Late-night talk show host Stephen Colbert recently slammed Russian President Vladamir Putin as the Russian military faces challenges in taking over Ukraine. Despite two weeks on the ground relentlessly assaulting innocent Ukrainians, Russian forces have only taken over 10% of the country.
On Thursday, March 10, Colbert dedicated a small segment to addressing the unrest erupting in Ukraine as Russia's "war machine" struggles to complete the operation it was assigned to do.
As the war in Ukraine continues, Colbert noted that Ukraine's military had fired back by shooting down a total of 48 Russian planes and 80 of its helicopters. In addition to the assault on Russia's aircraft, Ukraine has also managed to sink two naval vessels and raze hundreds of tanks.
Colbert called Putin out saying, “Hey Putin, How do you like them turnips?”
He added, “And get this. The Ukrainians didn’t sink just any ship, because the Russian warship that was told to go fuck itself at Snake Island has been destroyed.”
In response to Colbert's remarks, the audience applauded. “It may not have been exactly what the Ukrainians wanted,” he said. “but it did go down on itself.”
