Several U.S. Secret Service agents removed two men from a vehicle in the affluent Georgetown neighborhood in Washington, D.C., and confiscated what appeared to be an assault-style firearm, according to Reuters.
In addition to the presumed firearm, witnesses also noted that the agents also "pulled what appeared to be body armor components" from the vehicle described as a "black four-door Ford sedan with Indiana plates that said Marine Corps Veteran."
Based on witness statements and photographs from the incident, one of the suspects was seen wearing a black hoodie and a pair of tan pans. The other suspect wore a baseball cap with a camouflage jacket.
Reuters also shed light on the other items agents confiscated.
"Police removed multiple military-style bags from the car, like duffles and packs, mostly Army green, and emptied their contents on the trunk and the street, video from the incident showed. Some items, including what appeared to be body armor plates, were laid on the ground and photographed by officers."
It is being reported that at least one of the suspects was transported away from the scene in a Secret Service van. Responding to requests for comments on the matter, the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Police Department referred all questions to the Secret Service.
