'Entitled drama queen' Peter Navarro lambasted on social media after whining about his treatment in police custody

Ever since the Richard Nixon era, Republicans have declared themselves to be the party of law and order — often echoing the theme from the 1970s television crime drama “Barretta”: Don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time. But when MAGA Republican Peter Navarro, who served as a trade adviser to former President Donald Trump, appeared on Tucker Carlson’s Fox News show on Monday night, June 6, that law-and-order message was nowhere to be found.

Navarro complained about the way he was treated while in police custody. And his comments are bringing him plenty of mockery and ridicule on Twitter.

Navarro, who is facing two counts of criminal contempt of Congress for defying a subpoena from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s select committee on the January 6, 2021 insurrection, appeared in court on Friday, June 3. Outside the courthouse, he told reporters that the U.S. Department of Justice is showing an “utter disregard of the Constitution and the law.” And he had more complaints about his arrest during his “Tucker Carlson Tonight” appearance on June 6.

Navarro, who complained about being strip searched while in police custody, told Carlson, “People do not want to sit in solitary confinement in leg irons ― denied food, denied water, denied an attorney. This is what we live in.”

It didn’t take long for Navarro’s critics to slam his comments on social media and point out how entitled he sounded. Liberal firebrand and talk radio pundit Randi Rhodes tweeted:
