'Parental rights' crusader allegedly punched teen in face while hosting 'underage drinking party'

A former Republican candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania is now facing multiple criminal charges following a drunken brawl with teenagers at her home.

The Daily Beast reported Thursday that 36-year-old Clarice Schillinger — a far-right "parental rights" advocate who rails against LGBTQ+ awareness curriculum in schools — has been charged with simple assault, harassment and furnishing liquor to minors. Schillinger was arrested at her suburban Philadelphia home after allegedly punching a teenage boy on September 29. In an affidavit the Beast obtained, one teen (whose name has been withheld due to his age) said Schillinger "punched him three times on the left side of his face/chin area."

"A video from the evening was provided, which shows multiple minors gathered in a front foyer area of the residence with Clarice Schillinger quickly lunging at a subject and subsequently having to be restrained," the affidavit read.

Schillinger — who once called former President Donald Trump "sharp as a tack" after visiting him at Mar-a-Lago — reportedly hosted the party to celebrate her 17-year-old daughter's birthday with her friends, which included nearly two dozen teenagers as young as 15 years old. The Republican activist is said in the affidavit to have instructed partygoers to stay in the basement of her home, which "was stocked with alcoholic beverages to include New Amsterdam vodka and Malibu Bay Breeze rum."

"Schillinger not only provided the alcoholic beverages, but poured shots and drank along with the minors, even participating in drinking games," the affidavit read.

Aside from the September 29 incident, the Beast reported that police were once again called out to Schillinger's home just a few days before on September 24 at another apparent teenage drinking party. That night, police said they found "[m]ultiple beer cans" at the house and "approximately 20 minors that fled into the house upon police arrival." Schillinger was reportedly "intoxicated and uncooperative with police" on September 24th.

Attorney Matthew Brittenburg, who is representing Schillinger, told the Beast that his client "has always been a law-abiding citizen" and "looks forward to the opportunity to defend against these allegations."
