Trump aide’s wife admits she didn’t vote — scapegoats moms for GOP losses

A MAGA podcaster has put forward a rather odd scapegoat in the wake of the Republicans’ widespread losses at the midterms. Katie Miller, wife of one of President Donald Trump’s chief aides, is blaming GOP mothers after Republican candidates were soundly beaten by the Democrats on Tuesday.

“You see that moms are too busy raising their children and taking care of them to go to the polls,” Miller said in an interview with Norah O’Donnell on CBS News.

Miller, who has four kids with White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, conceded she did not cast a ballot in Virginia. “I did not vote in Virginia because in Virginia when you vote, you dox your own address, and so I prefer my own safety and security over giving that up,” she told O’Donnell.

The Millers live on a fortified military base in Northern Virginia. He is one of the minds behind Trump’s mass deportation agenda.

In September 2025, Katie Miller reportedly called the police on some protesters who had left chalk messages such as “Stephen Miller is destroying democracy” outside her home. She described the messages on Fox News as “terroristic threats,” though a police report obtained by Zeteo described them as “non-threatening.”

Miller had been at it online throughout Election Day, saying conservative women should have more children so they will be voting Republican down the line. “Election Day always makes me want to have more kids to cancel out the votes of the America-hating leftists,” she put it on X. “After all, conservatives have more babies.”

She has a habit of going off on working moms and arguing that a career does not offer the same kind of fulfillment as motherhood. During the CBS interview, she was quick to sidestep any suggestion that the election was a referendum on the Trump administration or why he and his MAGA Republicans might have come up short.

“Candidate quality,” she said, contending that many of the Republicans running for office were poor fits. “They weren’t good options in the first place.” Then she echoed the president’s view that if he were on the ballot as in a presidential race, the results would have been different.

For his part, Trump gave an interview to Fox News and seemingly accepted the results, saying that the Democrats “did a good job,” but he made no move to put the blame on himself or his low approval numbers for the wipeout. “I wasn’t on the ballot, and if I was, we would have won IN A LANDSLIDE!” he posted on Truth Social.

Democratic Senate candidates won in several states Trump carried in 2024: James Talarico in Texas, Roy Cooper in North Carolina, Annie Andrews in South Carolina, Josh Turek in Iowa, Adam Hamilton in Kansas, and Sherrod Brown in Ohio.
