'It sounds interesting': NRA-A-rating Lauren Boebert befuddled by biblical synonym for mass murder
14 September 2022
United States Representative Lauren Boebert (R-Colorado) recently got tripped up by a Bible verse that she was reading aloud during a speech to an audience of conservative constituents.
Boebert, an Second Amendment enthusiast who opposes the separation of church and state, was reciting Romans 1:28-32, which maligns nonbelievers:
... and then all Hell broke lose. Rampant, evil, grabbing and grasping vicious backstabbing. They make life Hell on Earth with their envy, wanton killing ...
Boebert – a supporter of former President Donald Trump whose record against gun control has earned her an 'A' rating with the National Rifle Association – then abruptly cut herself off, chuckling that “I don’t know what a 'wonton' killing is. I’m going to have to look that one up, but it sounds interesting. I don't think I want to be a part of it."
