'So defund the police?' Jim Jordan slammed for plan to cut DOJ and FBI funds over Trump indictment

Republican House members want to defund the police over former President Donald Trump's Manhattan indictment.

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), who is also House Judiciary Committee Chair, during a Sunday Fox News interview with Maria Bartiromo, said he and his congressional colleagues are considering cutting funds for agencies "engaging in egregious behavior."

More specifically, Axios reports the Ohio congressman and other "top House conservatives are targeting the budgets of federal law enforcement agencies such as the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) as part of their scrutiny of the 'weaponization' of the federal government," and in response to the 2024 hopeful's upcoming arrest.

@Acyn shared a clip from the congressman's interview with Bartiromo, writing, "Jordan: We're going to have to look at the appropriations process and limit funds going to some of these agencies… Bartiromo: So the DOJ and the FBI? Jordan: yeah"

Jordan's strategy comes after some Republican lawmakers have accused Democrats, for years, of pushing to "defund the police" and "abolish ICE," according to Axios.

CNN reports:

'Defund the police' is a vague slogan that means different things to different people, from completely disbanding the police to shifting some percentage of police funding to other programs and services.

Twitter users lambasted the MAGA lawmaker for his blatant hypocrisy.
