On Tuesday, the House will vote on a bill that compel the Department of Justice to mandate the release the case files around accused trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. Ahead of the vote, his survivors spoke outside the U.S. Capitol, specifically calling out President Donald Trump over his past refusal to release the documents.
Speaking to the press, Jena-Lisa Jones said that she voted for Trump because she believed him when he promised to release the files.
"We are hearing the administration say they intend to investigate various Democrats who were friends with Epstein. I beg you, President Trump, please stop making this political. It is not about you. Show some class. I voted for you, but your behavior on this issue has been a national embarrassment."
Each of the women who spoke held up a photo of what they looked like at the age they were when Epstein allegedly trafficked them.
Trump now supports releasing the files after previously attempting to stymie efforts to compel their release. Conservative commentator Bill Kristol wrote this week that Trump "recognized defeat."
