Hidden gun.
A Christmas present ended in tragedy after a man shot and killed someone on Thursday.
An Oklahoma man scored a new gun as a Christmas present, but accidentally shot a woman while doing target practice, KOCO and KSWO reported.
The woman was found dead of a gunshot wound, and Survival Flight EMS and Meridian Fire Department were unable to save her.
The man then called the police, confessing that he might be responsible. He said that he was shooting at targets in his backyard, and later heard that someone a few roads over died from a gunshot wound.
A Facebook update from the police department said that the suspect received a gun for Christmas.
The man was taken into custody about four hours later and has been charged with manslaughter.
"Investigators believe the person was pointing the gun in the direction of the scene where the victim was shot," KOCO reported.
Authorities said investigators spoke with someone who said he was shooting at a target in his backyard and that he had heard that someone died from a gunshot wound a couple of roads over.
An arrest was later made for first-degree manslaughter. Information about the victim and suspect has not been released.
