Another GOP loyalist voter caught voting for a dead relative: report

The Georgia Election Board fined a Florida lawyer $3,500 after he attempted to register to vote in Georgia and encouraged other Republicans to follow his lead.

The Atlanta Journal Constitution reports Panama City, Florida resident Bill Price submitted an application to register at his brother’s house in Paulding County, Ga., so he could vote in the U.S. Senate runoffs in early 2021 for Republican incumbents Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue.

Price posted a Facebook video on Nov. 7, 2020, instructing Bay County Republican Party members how to register to vote for Republican politicians in other states, which is illegal in Georgia.

“We have to do whatever it takes. And if that means changing your address for the next two months, so be it. I’m doing that. I’m moving to Georgia, and I’m going to fight and I want you all to fight with me,” said Price, who is an attorney with enough familiarity with U.S. law to pass the Florida bar exam.

“It can be done online, or you can request your ballot at your new address in Georgia by mail. But you just go to the secretary of state’s website—for the state of Georgia—and register to vote there,” Price told his audience of Bay County GOP members in an hour-long instruction video.

Price deleted the Facebook video days after it was posted in 2020.

Election officials in Paulding County received Price’s illegal voter registration application the day after he posted the video, but the Georgia AG said officials halted processing his application after seeing media reports of Price’s video. Price agreed to the Georgia Election Board’s unanimously-approved fine in a consent order this week, without further comment.

Despite Price’s effort, Democratic U.S. Sens. Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock won the runoffs.
