'Highest levels of DOJ' sign off on FBI raid Washington Post journalist’s home: report

The Washington Post reported, and The New York Times confirmed Wednesday, that a Post reporter was raided by the FBI in search of classified materials.
Semafor's Max Tani posted on X that "a Washington Post spokesperson confirmed to me that the paper is reviewing and monitoring the situation."
Post reporter Hannah Natanson was at her Virginia home when federal agents arrived and searched her home and devices. It's part of an investigation into "Aurelio Perez-Lugones, a system administrator in Maryland who has a top secret security clearance and has been accused of accessing and taking home classified intelligence reports that were found in his lunchbox and his basement," the report said, citing an FBI affidavit.
Natanson has covered some of the most "high-profile and sensitive coverage" from President Donald Trump's first year in office, the report explained.
The FBI reportedly took a phone and a Garmin watch.
The raid was "signed off on at highest levels of the Justice Department," said Punchbowl News' John Bresnahan on X.
