In Emails, Hillary Says 'No Doubt' U.S. Has Different Standards for Pressuring Saudi Arabia on Human Rights

Emailgate, as it has come to be known, is a scandal many Americans are tired of hearing about, as Bernie Sanders put it in the Democratic debate. Yet the periodic email releases do offer a window into the minds of our leaders.

Take this latest set of emails between various Hillary aides and the Secretary about a Maureen Dowd columncriticizing the U.S. for failing to pressure Saudi Arabia over rights abuses. In these emails, Hillary admits:

that there is “no doubt” the U.S. has different standards for its Saudi ally:





It's rare to see a U.S. official admit the double standards of our oil-producing ally, showing that Emailgate has delivered something useful after all.
