Elon Musk extends offer to Don Lemon to launch new show on Twitter after Tucker Carlson’s announcement

Elon Musk has reportedly extended an olive branch to former CNN host Don Lemon, giving him the opportunity to launch a new Web series on Twitter.
Musk's decision to reach out to Lemon comes just days after former Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson took to Twitter with an announcement about the idea of launching his own show.
According to Business Insider, the Twitter CEO replied to Lemon's tweet April 24 tweet, just after CNN cut ties with him. In his tweet, Musk laid out the benefits of using Twitter to connect with his former audience.

"Have you considered doing your show on this platform?" Musk tweeted. "Maybe worth a try. Audience is much bigger."
Musk's tweet to Lemon comes shortly after Carlson's announcement on Tuesday, May 9.
"There aren't many platforms left that allow free speech," Carlson said in his announcement. "The last big one remaining in the world — the only one — is Twitter."
Carlson's announcement clip quickly picked up steam, garnering more than 25 million views since it was posted on Tuesday.

Shortly after Carlson's remarks began circulating on the social media platform, Musk released a brief statement addressing the situation."
On this platform, unlike the one-way street of broadcast, people are able to interact, critique and refute whatever is said," Musk said. "I hope that many others, particularly from the left, also choose to be content creators on this platform."
