Donald Trump is warping Paul Pelosi's attack into an unhinged far-right conspiracy theory: report

Former President Donald Trump is attempting to change the narrative regarding the recent assault of Paul Pelosi, the husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).

On Tuesday, November 1, Trump appeared on The Chris Stigall Podcast where he weighed in on all that has transpired with Paul Pelosi. At one point during the segment, Trump claimed "weird things" were happening in the lawmaker's household.

"Well, it's weird things going on in that household in the last couple of weeks," Trump said. "You know, probably you and I are better not talking about it."

He went on to echo a baseless claim about the home invasion as he insisted the glass at the Pelosi residence had been broken from the inside. "So it wasn't a break-in, it was a break-out," he added. "I dunno, you hear the same things I do."

Per Business Insider, Trump also "agreed when Stigall said the 911 tape seemed to suggest the Pelosis knew the identity of the suspect — which is also untrue, according to Paul Pelosi and authorities." "Yeah, yeah," Trump said. "It's a lot of bad stuff. I'm not a fan of Nancy Pelosi but what's going on there is very sad."

Despite Trump's conspiracy theories, the San Francisco Police Department has already debunked many of the rumors about the incident. Insider notes that David DePape, the 42,-year-old suspect charged with the assault and home invasion, told authorities "that he broke in with a hammer through a glass door, according to the affidavit."

DePape's remarks disproved Trump's claim about the glass being broken from inside the home. Trump's latest remarks come as a number of conspiracy theorists have also shared similar assessments about the home invasion.
