Dan Rather weighs in on the incriminating reports about Ginni Thomas

Veteran journalist Dan Rather has two compelling questions for U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas in wake of the latest controversy surrounding his wife, Ginni Thomas.

On Thursday, March 24, reports uncovered a series of bizarre messages sent by the justice's wife. According to HuffPost, the dozens of text messages "loaded with wild conspiracy theories about the 2020 election to then-White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, urging him to overturn Donald Trump’s 2020 election defeat."

That same day, Rather took to Twitter with two questions. He tweeted, "What does Clarence Thomas know? And when did he know it?"

Twitter users also chimed in agreeing to Rather's post.

In his recently-published SubStack post, Rather detailed the series of events that have unfolded as he voiced his concerns.

"I suspect most of you are up to some sort of speed on this story, although it changes faster than Superman in a phone booth. Except, sadly, there are no superheroes here," Rather wrote. "Instead, the backdrop is the violent insurrection of January 6, in which there are numerous pieces of evidence suggesting Ms. Thomas was deeply involved. Lest there be any doubt, this was an attempt to overthrow a presidential election, culminating (but not ending) with that shameful storming of the Capitol by rioters bent on keeping their dear leader in the White House."

Rather also offered his take on the latest reports circulating.

“We already knew a lot about this storyline, but today proved that there still is a potential for surprise — or more accurately, horror,” Rather wrote. “This is a smoking gun in the form of text messages between Ms. Thomas and the White House chief of staff at the time, Mark Meadows.”

The veteran broadcaster closed by reiterating his previous questions. “What else might he know?” he asked. “Recusal is a bare minimum. The questions go much deeper.”

Rather's remarks come just days after Justice Thomas was hospitalized for an infection. Although he has been released from the hospital, the court declined to release a statement on his condition.
