Gov. Chris Sununu offers contradictory remarks about Trump's 2024 presidential campaign

New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu (R) is appealing to the Republican Party with one main request: move on from former President Donald Trump as the 2024 presidential election campaign season nears.

However, he also made additional remarks that appear to contradict his disapproval of the former president.

During a recent appearance on MSNBC News' "Morning Joe," Sununu spoke with news anchor Mika Brzezinski and offered his projection on the 2024 election and Trump's chances of becoming the Republican nominee.

According to Sununu, the former president only has a slim chance of clinching the nomination again saying, "Look, Donald Trump is not gonna be the nominee.” At one point during the discussion, he also appealed to the political party to "say thank you for your service, and let’s move on."

However, when the Republican governor was asked about the possibility of him voting for Trump if things happened to work in the former president's favor, Sununu suggested that he would still support him.

“Of the former president and myself, one of us is a lifelong Republican and one of us will always support the Republican nominee,” he said.

“But is he a lifelong Republican?” she replied to which Sununu said, “No. That’s me, Mika."
