As Republicans continue to threaten those posting negative opinions on conservative podcaster Charlie Kirk, including the Deputy Secretary of State and Florida's Education Commissioner, social media activists have joined the campaign to hunt them down and, in some cases, get them fired from their jobs.
According to Salon, "Activists like [Libs of TikTok's] Chaya Raichik are trying to get liberals fired over insensitive remarks in the wake of Kirk's death."
Far-right activist Raichik, Salon says, has been the most active in the crusade against the critique, targeting everyone from a lecturer at Cal State University Monterrey Bay who posted on X, "“I cannot muster much sympathy, truly," to a U.S. Coast Guard employee, who captured a meme on Facebook with "“I don’t give a s--- about Charlie Kirk.”
While the lecturer, whose post asked, “What about all the kids, the many broken families from the over 258 school shootings 2020- present?” didn't seem to face any consequences beyond deleting his post, the Coast Guard said they are investigating the employee who posted the meme.
The Libs of TikTokker also targeted a former Twitter employee for posting "“As a long time fan this is incredibly disappointing," in reference to the moment of silence held for Kirk during a Yankee game.
Raichick's efforts have led to several firings including a Middle Tennessee State University assistant dean, for posting what the university described as a "callous comment that said, "Looks like ol’ Charlie spoke his fate into existence. Hate begets hate. ZERO sympathy."
The far-right social media influencer is no stranger to doxxing, the act of publicly revealing a person's private or identifying information online without their consent.
"Raichik herself complained that she had been the victim of doxxing after the Washington Post revealed her identity in 2022," Salon explains. "She had been operating her account anonymously up to that point."
