In the new documentary The Brainwashing of My Dad, filmmaker Jen Senko uncovers the forces behind her father’s radical transformation from a non-political, life-long Democrat to an angry, right-wing fanatic, and the media that changed so many Americans, especially middle-aged white men. 
When asked what influenced her decision to turn her father's behavior into a film, Senko said, “I think the breaking point was when Kerry lost the election to Bush. I’d created a media club called PRISM, People’s Response to Insufficient Subservient Media because I was very frustrated. My dad had been sending a slew of right-wing emails, just bombarding us. And I said, ‘you know, I’ve made one film before. I really need to tell this story.’”
Seiko describes her first film, Vanishing City, as "boot camp training" for The Brainwashing of My Dad, a biopic as much as a public service announcement.
