'There it is': Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez gets energy exec to admit his efforts to influence Congress

Sen. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York City, a major proponent of green energy, has been arguing that the fossil fuel industry has way too much influence on lawmakers — and she found evidence of that influence when questioning ExxonMobile CEO Darren Woods during a recent hearing.
Referring to the Build Back Better Act of 2021, Ocasio-Cortez asked Woods, "Have you participated in any calls with members of Congress throughout this process of reconciliation and infrastructure?" — to which Woods responded, "I have."
Following the hearing, Ocasio-Cortez tweeted:
