In December, the ongoing feud between the Tea Party and the Republican establishment lead to the firing of Paul Teller, an aide who used to work for GOP Rep. Steve Scalise before he was caught trying to undermine legislation.  Now, Tea Party darling Senator Ted Cruz has hired him.

Teller went to bat against a budget bill produced by GOP Rep. Paul Ryan and Senator Patty Murray, a Democrat.  Teller worked with conservative advocacy groups to undermine the bill, which was opposed by conservatives who wanted the bill to include changes to Social Security and Medicare.  Scalise fired Teller because of his attempts to scuttle the legislation.

Today, Cruz announced that Teller was hired to work as deputy chief of staff.  Cruz said Teller’s “tireless work to advance conservative principles make him a tremendous addition to our team.”  It's the latest indication of the alliance between the right-wing of the House and Cruz.
