Gay Arabic Translator: "I'm Here, I'm Willing to Serve" [VIDEO]

Over 11,000 service members had been discharged from the military in the past 14 years because of their sexual orientation. It's time to lift the ban on openly gay people in the military.
In the video to your right, Arabic translator Stephen Benjamin tells the heartbreaking story of how after extensive training to acquire his very valuable skill he has been denied the chance to serve his country simply because of his sexual orientation. His story is one of thousands, yet this issue has not surprisingly failed to pick up steam under the current administration's watch. The most recent presidential debates showed that all the Democratic candidates are officially in favor of repealing "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," while every Republican candidate is for keeping it as is. Whomever is elected, if the war continues or if it doesn't, should feel tremendous pressure to act, and to act positively on this issue. Brave New Films has made this video in the hopes that it will inspire you to sign a petition to end this discriminatory law once and for all.
