The Iranian government has tried to clamp down on coverage of the protests, shutting down websites, blocking access to social media sites and intimidating foreign reporters. But first-hand accounts are nevertheless proliferating on Twitter (text-messaging has been shut down, but many eye-witnesses are getting their stories outthrough proxy servers.)
