Bill Maher on WI Recall: "The Unions Tried to Kick a Bully, and the Bully Kicked Their Ass"

On last night's Real Time, Bill Maher and guests E.J. Dionne, Michael Brendan Dougherty, and John Waters (because, why not) discussed the recent recall effort in Wisconsin, which of course was won by the Walker camp, i.e., the guys with the most money. Maher's lesson from the ordeal? "Stick to your guns."

Scott Walker stuck to his guns -- this is what Rebublicans always do, and they win. They don't fear polls. Democrats fear polls and follow polls. Republicans look at the polls and go, "So what? We'll change it. Public option is popular? We'll make it unpopular. Unions are popular? No big deal." And I think the Democrats should get this message. Because as soon as Obama switched on gay marriage, came out for gay marriage, the polls reflected: Black Americans who were not for gay marriage, they all fell behind him. Not all, but the polls switched enormously.
