Washington Post: "Admit It. The Republicans Are Worse."

Sunday's Outlook section of the Washington Post will be dubbed: "The Polarization Issue"

Writers Thomas E. Mann and Norman J. Ornstein finally, finally, FINALLY, bring to the front pages what we here have been saying since, OH, SINCE DKOS FIRST STARTED.

...we have no choice but to acknowledge that the core of the problem lies with the Republican Party.

The GOP has become an insurgent outlier in American politics. It is ideologically extreme; scornful of compromise; unmoved by conventional understanding of facts, evidence and science; and dismissive of the legitimacy of its political opposition.

When one party moves this far from the mainstream, it makes it nearly impossible for the political system to deal constructively with the country’s challenges

I mean, really now, how much longer can the second biggest newspaper keep its head in the sand? This isn't the party of Reagan anymore. It's not the party of Goldwater, Nixon or Eisenhower.

What we have is a Democratic party filled with socialists, greens, progressives, moderates, social conservatives, fiscal conservatives....and then you have the Republicans. That's pretty much it.

We need to stop with all the bullshit false equivalency. There is no left-wing equivalent to Allen West. Or Ted Nugent. Or Sarah Palin. Or Ron Paul. Or Grover Norquist. Or Glenn Beck. Or Steve King. Or Orly Taitz. Or any of the  other 10,000 psychotic nutjobs who will be in Tampa this September. They just aren't there.

Democrats aren't perfect...but they're not conservatives either.
