No Turnout For Kochs' Americans For Prosperity Tour, Ironically Called "Running on Empty"

Literally running on empty, the Americans for Prosperity tour pulled in a scant 15 people to its Jacksonville rally this afternoon. This is good news, considering the democracy-buying, oil- industry-running Koch brothers are touring to convince Florida to increase off-shore drilling, despite the BP gulf spill. Still, Florida director Slade O'Brien said they had more than 200 registered to come, and the turnout was "shocking."

Those who did attended were encourage to support a  $8.6 million "gas bill" that represents the difference between the price of gas when Obama took office and what fuel will cost over the next 12 months. According to Common Dreams,

"Americans For Prosperity is also launching a Running on Empty campaign to blame the White House "and the liberal Left's reckless green policies" for high gas prices - even though a ThinkProgress report finds the Koch's own oil speculation is more to blame. They're also prepping for next week's RightOnline Conference in Minnesota, aimed at "taking down MoveOn.org and the left-wing Netroots."

Only time will tell how many people will buy their propaganda, or, perhaps more accurately, how many people the Koch brothers can pay to have convinced.
