Truly Scary: GOP Candidate Hawking Anti-Abortion Horror Films

Over the weekend in Hoboken, Kenneth Del Vecchio, GOP candidate for New Jersey State Senate, debuted his latest production: an anti-abortion horror film entitled The Life Zone. The plot: three pregnant women are abducted from an abortion clinic and forced by an evil old white man to carry their pregnancies to term (great analogy for the GOP!), based on the fact that they were "on the operating table ready to commit murder." The trailer:

So clearly, in Del Vecchio's eyes, kidnapping three adult women who are exercising their right to make adult decisions, and holding them hostage against their will is not a problem. Frankly, that is terrifying, but not for the reasons Del Vecchio intends. The scariest part is this man was once a New Jersey municipal court judge. He was, according to the Village Voice, forced to resign during the promotion of another film, "O.B.A.M. Nude" (ugh), which is about ";a college student addicted to cocaine sells his soul to the devil to become a socialist leader." Del Vecchio was advised not to promote the film as it would be improper for his position. He opted to pursue his film career instead. Let's hope he sticks with that and stays out of politics.
