Gov. Walker Demotes High-Paid Lobbyist's Son Amid Criticism

Governor Scott Walker's disdain for the working class stops short when it comes to the families of lobbyists. Walker was recently forced to demote a candidate he hired for his administration, after receiving criticism that the unfit employee was the son of a big GOP donor. Brian Deschane was hired and given a 26 percent salary raise within the first two months of work, which saw him carting home $81,000 a year. But he wasn't even qualified for the job. Raw Story:

The Sentinel also noted that two other candidates who were considered for the $81,000-a-year job were immensely qualified for the position, whereas Deschane only had a high school diploma and a history of drunk driving. Neither other man was even interviewed for the job, whereas the son of a lobbyist with a trade group that gave over $121,000 to the governor was an apparent shoe-in.

Nepotism and having a rich father were the biggest job requirements, apparently. After various media exposes, Deschane was demoted back down to the also-respectable $64,728 salary.  Read the full story here
