Arizona Sheriff Enlists Gun-Toting Celebrities for Racist Agenda

Civil rights-violating law enforcer Sheriff Joe Arpaio is coming one step closer to realizing his dark fantasy of becoming Arizona's John Wayne. In his continued efforts to eradicate the wild west of Mexicans and other immigrants, he's formed a new posse–his 60th in less than 20 years–consisting of right-wing celebrities from action movies, over half of whom are authorized to carry a gun. The ominous collectionof deputies includes Steven Segal, Lou Ferrigno aka The Incredible Hulk, “Mission Impossible”'s Peter Lupus and Wyatt Earp, nephew of the gunfighter.

New deputies, said the sheriff's office, will "work with deputies in searching for load vehicles and drop houses, transporting illegal immigrants arrested for potential immigration violations, containment of load vehicles or businesses during criminal employment sweeps, and crowd control during demonstrations against the Sheriff's immigration policies."

They'll also be covered by the county's insurance as they perform their duties by the county trust, said Cari Gerchick, a spokeswoman for Maricopa County. Back in June, purchasing cards which had been issued to some posse members were canceled, Gerchick said.

Arpaio is currently being investigated by the Justice Department for discrimination in his little vigilante-style immigration runs (shocker). He's also accused of misusing 80 million in public funds for frivolous reasons–including luxury vacations and carriage rides. Also, violating the constitution. Also, overzealous publicity-seeking. This move probably falls under that last category.
