WATCH: Maddow's Stinging McCain Takedown: So Inconsistent He "Renders Flip-Flop Meaningless"

Last night Rachel Maddow let John McCain's "worst enemy," to borrow a phrase from Mediate, metaphorically "tear him limb from limb." The enemy, of course, is his own self, and his level of self-contradiction that reaches a point of absurdity--"the sharp, bitter, divisive...conflict between John McCain and John McCain." Watch below:

Mediate's Matt Schneider makes the good point that Maddow's words should bear particular meaning to her fellow journalists. McCain, who is largely despised by both ideological extremes, ought to not be such a media darling or representation of "the principled center" to Maddow's besotted colleagues.

Because he appears to have no principles. As Maddow said, "“Senator John McCain’s stances on legislation and important policy issues and principles are so fundamentally inconsistent as to render the phrase flip-flop meaningless."
