Melissa Harris-Perry Talks Porn's Impact on Society

Melissa Harris-Perry is hands-down my favorite MSNBC host, not least because she was already one of my favorite political writers. She is in touch with the culture in a way none of her peers seem to be, which is not to slag on them but to compliment her for being so savvy and smart and relevant. Today, she hosted a panel discussion on pornography, which not only takes cojones for the morning set, but also the wherewithal to bring on guests who are equally savvy. The chat included Michael Eric Dyson, Zephyr Teachout, Jaclyn Friedman, and Tristan Taormino, and examined a fact of our society that too often gets taken for granted: that our oversexualization goes unchecked. Watch here, via Mediaite, and check our latest piece on internet misogynists who double as pornographers here.
