Watch: Rachel Maddow Digs into Trump's Shady Financial Past

Remember that time in the 1980s when Trump short-changed New York City by $2.8 million? Rachel does.

MSNBC's Rachel Maddow spent the opening of her Friday show doing a deep dive into the "extraordinary flim-flammery" of President Donald Trump's past financial dealings.

As it turns out, the president once short-changed New York City to the tune of $2.8 million in a deal designed to avoid paying upwards of $150 million in property taxes.

Trump managed to win the presidency without ever disclosing his tax returns to the public, marking the first time in 40 years a president managed to avoid such disclosures.

Depending on the trajectory of special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation, Trump may find himself answering to the public for financial dealings he never expected to reveal.
