Sen. Bernie Sanders' multi-state unity tour with Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez continued for a fourth day in North Texas, where he addressed a crowd of nearly 2,000 at the Verizon Theater.

“We are at a pivotal moment in American history," Sanders opened, followed by a message to Trump voters: “Forget what [Trump] said. Look at what he is doing," the Vermont senator told the crowd.

In November, Donald Trump carried Texas by a 10-point margin, 5 points less than Mitt Romney in 2012. More than 50 percent of Texans have an unfavorable view of Trump now. But GOP officials insist they're not worried.

“Texas is unequivocally, if you are a Democrat, the most important state in the country,” said Tarrant County Republican Party head Tim O’Hare, who warned, “If the Democrats ever take Texas, there would never be another Republican elected to the White House or appointed to the Supreme Court."

But the comments follow major headway made by Democrats in the state just this month, including a redistricting ruling for three congressional districts and a Berniecrat's campaign announcement on Ted Cruz's home turf.

Likewise, in Grand Prairie, Sanders pushed the crowd to take the resistance to any available office.

“One of the things the establishment does ... they make you think you’re a nice person but you’re not really (qualified) to be on the school board or the state legislature,” said Sanders. Just take a look at the U.S. Congress. Don’t think they’re a bunch of geniuses there. Trust me. They are not.”
