During an unbelievable joint press conference between President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, Trump openly attacked the FBI.

At the close of the press conference, Putin denied having compromising material on Trump from his days as a private citizen.

"I don't even remember the last names of each an every [important U.S. citizen who visited]," Putin said. "Do you think that we try to collect compromising material on each and every single one of them? Well, it's difficult to imagine on a bigger scale of this. Please disregard these issues and don't think about this anymore again."

"And I have to say if they had it, it would have been out long ago. And if anybody watched Peter Strzok testify over the last couple of days, and I was in Brussels watching it, it was a disgrace to the FBI," Trump added. "It was a disgrace to our country. And you would say that was a total witch hunt. Thank you very much, everybody. Thank you."

Breaking away from the Helsinki summit, CNN's Anderson Cooper summed up the incredible exchange.

"You have been watching perhaps one of the most disgraceful performances by an American president at a summit in front of a Russian leader certainly that I've ever seen," Cooper said. "An extraordinary press conference."

"It's embarrassing," Cooper later concluded.
