Russell Simmons, the co-founder of Def Jam Recordings, faces accusations of rape from four women amid two new reports from the New York Times and the Los Angeles Times.

All four rape accusers are previous colleagues of Simmons'. The newspapers cite numerous corroborating sources to confirm contemporaneous knowledge of the alleged rapes and incidents of misconduct.

The rapes are alleged to have occurred between 1983 and 1996. The most recent allegation of sexual misconduct is from 2016. Simmons is accused of sexual misconduct of varying degrees by a total of nine women in the new reports.

Simmons denies all allegations of rape. He stepped down from Def Jam Recordings and other professional roles after sexual misconduct allegations began to emerge earlier in 2017.
