The NRA Just Tweeted '7 Ways Children Can Have Fun at the Shooting Range'

Is one of them shooting your instructor with an Uzi?

We maintain our right to be shocked at the utterly wanton, bloodthirsty idiocy of the NRA. Every news outlet in the country is wringing its hands about the deeply disturbing incident in Arizona in which a 9-year-old girl shot her shooting range instructor dead with an Uzi. (Her parents thought it was a good idea to bring her to the shooting range.) Is the NRA wringing its hands? No it is not. It is tweeting: "7 Ways Children Can Have Fun at the Shooting Range."

Oh wait, correction. It's the NRAWomen who are tweeting that. It's about an article in Women's Outdoor Network

Here it is: (Or here is MediaMatters' tweet about that tweet.)

To be fair, it was actually tweeted last week, before the tragedy in Arizona. But it was still up in the shooting's aftermath, until those NRAWomen took it down. Guess they realized the timing was bad. Another time, kids!

Here's a sample of the tips in that story:

“[I]f children continually shoot the same bull’s-eye target, they can become tired, exhausted or bored. Sometimes they want, or rather need, to have fun at the range. That’s when it’s time to introduce other types of targets to change things up, so children have fun at the range.” So brightly colored targets can be fun; animal shaped targets too, and mutants and zombies!

Is this not one of the sickest things you've ever heard? (And not in a good way)
