Steve Levitan, co-creator and co-showrunner of Modern Family, plans to cut all ties with 20th Century Fox TV because of its relationship to Fox News.

“Let me officially join @SethMacFarlane in saying I’m disgusted to work at a company that has anything whatsoever to do with @FoxNews. This bullshit is the opposite of what #ModernFamily stands for," Levitan wrote on Twitter.

"I have great respect and admiration for Dana Walden, Gary Newman, Peter Rice and everyone at 20th Century Fox TV studio who have all treated me so well for almost two decades,” Levitan followed up in a statement. “For now, I will take some time to see where these people land, and at that point I will make a decision about my future.”

The move is a concerning one as other major media players have signaled dissatisfaction with working for companies who have parent organizations affiliated with Fox News.

Within the last week, Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane said he was "embarrassed" to work for Fox and Judd Apatow "urged Fox showrunners and talent to call out Fox News’s coverage of the Trump administration’s zero-tolerance immigration policy."
