The Chauncey DeVega Show is the official podcast of Salon.com politics writer Chauncey DeVega. The weekly show features a relaxed and free-form conversation with artists, authors, musicians, researchers, academics, journalists, activists, actors and directors.

Psychiatrist Bandy Lee is the guest on this week's episode of the Chauncey DeVega Show. She is a faculty member at the Yale School of Medicine and one of the principal editors of the New York Times bestseller "The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump: 27 Psychiatrists and Mental Health Experts Assess a President." This is the second time Lee has appeared on the podcast.

Lee and Chauncey discuss the predictions made in her book about the dangers posed by Donald Trump's mental health to the safety of the United States and the world, which she told Congress when she testified several weeks ago. Lee also explains what it was like to be a target of the right-wing mob because of her truth-telling about Trump and what motivates her to embrace the best of our humanity in a time of political darkness.

In this week's episode, DeVega also speaks with reporter and opinion writer Tommy Christopher from the political news and commentary site Shareblue about Trump's State of the Union speech. DeVega also explains why the Nunez memo about Trump and his cabal being victims of the so-called "deep state" is a great distraction and ploy where the truth is ultimately irrelevant. At the end of this week's podcast, he shares a fascinating story about orcas.
