Jon Stewart Blasts Fox News' "Bullshit" Coverage of the Government Shutdown

The Daily Show gives a reason to laugh about the government shutdown: Fox News' insane way of reporting on it.

The Daily Show, like the rest of the country, is fixated on the government shutdown--or as he calls it, “Shutstorm 2013.”

Last night, Jon Stewart took a deep dive into the bizarro world of how Fox News--or “Bullshit Mountain”-- is covering the shutdown. “Over on Bullshit Mountain they’ve realized that this shutdown ain’t looking so hot for one particular party,” said Stewart, before switching to Sean Hannity calling the government closure a “liberal shutdown.”

Stewart criticized Fox for blasting a memorial closure that nearly prevented World War Two veterans from holding a ceremony while missing the entire point of why the memorial was closed: the Republican Party. He also noted that programs like “Meals on Wheels” were being shut down by the government’s closure--and that Fox News is obfuscating the real reasons why.

But the best part of the night came when Stewart had on “Smokey the Bear.” Watch the video here:
