Donald Trump's budget may be "hard power," but it's remarkably weak in its support of American families. So concluded Samantha Bee in a dazzling monologue on Wednesday night's "Full Frontal."

Responding to White House Budget Director Mick Mulvaney's assertion that Trump's budget's reprioritization isn't unlike that of "any family or business," Bee deadpanned, "Families routinely tweak their budgets by canceling their kids' education, throwing out all their books and medicine, selling their smoke detectors and redirecting all their money to guns, ammo and a moat stocked with alligators.

Bee continued, "[This budget] reveals that Trump has no f*cking clue what he's doing. Surprise!"

Trump's budget calls for cuts to any number of essential programs including Energy Star, designed to make consumer products more efficient.

"I'm going to take you back to something awful that happened in 1995 in Chicago, when people had inefficient air conditioners and turned them all on at once," recalled Bee.

That summer, a heat wave killed more than 700 people after a quarter of a million households lost power.

"The difference between the demand the utility could handle and the demand that caused the blackouts was just 3.2 percent," she explained, "which means a slight improvement in AC energy efficiency could have prevented the blackouts and many of the deaths."

Unfortunately, the Trump administration considers climate research "a waste."

"F*ck it," said Bee. "Trump's America's already a figurative hell, it might as well be hotter than hell too."
