Jon Stewart Hilariously Recounts That Time When Trump Bombarded Him With Anti-Semitic Tweets

"Oh, I think this guy's trying to let people know I'm a Jew."

As host of “The Daily Show,” Jon Stewart mocked everyone from Tim Walz and Mike Pence to George W. Bush and Donald Trump.

Donald Trump isn't just "a man you can bait with a tweet," as Hillary Clinton said at the Democratic National Convention. He's a flat-out cyberbully, as confirmed by comedian Jon Stewart during a November 1 fundraiser for veterans.

"This is a little something I've entitled 'The Day I Woke up to Find out Somebody Was Tweeting Weird Sh*t About Me,'" Stewart told the audience at the Stand Up For Heroes event.

"On April 24, 2013, at 11am, someone comes into my office and says, 'Donald Trump just tweeted: 'I promise you I'm much smarter than Jonathan Leibowitz—I mean Jon Stewart—who, by the way, is totally overrated,'" Stewart recalled.

Stewart joked he didn't necessarily disagree with the statement that came out of nowhere.

"I said, as you might say to yourself, what the f*ck is that about?" Stewart told the benefit audience, recalling that he first tried to understand Trump's motives. Little did he know Trump would soon call out Stewart again.

"A couple of days later, [Trump] tweets, 'As I've said many times before, Jon Stewart is highly overrated,'" Stewart revealed.

"I swear, this is true, he tweets again, 'If Jon Stewart is so above it all and legit, why did he change his name from Jonathan Leibowitz? He should be proud of his heritage,'" Stewart said.

Trump wasn't done yet.

"Jon Stewart is a total phony, he should cherish his past, not run from it," the New York real estate mogul then asserted.

Stewart could not believe what he was reading.

"I start to think to myself, like, oh, I think this guy's trying to let people know I'm a Jew, and I think to myself, like, doesn't my face do that?" Stewart joked.

The audience roared.

"Honestly, where have you seen this face other than [on] a poster for Yentl? In what world are people like, Stewart, that's a Scottish name, but there's something about that fella that looks a little schmear-y?" Stewart asked.

"It would be funny if it wasn't so toxically f*cking crude and horrible," Stewart continued.

That's when Stewart decided to tweet back, "Many people don't know this, but Donald Trump's real name is F*ckface Von Clownstick."
