Watch: Will Trump Make the GOP Convention Great Again? Colbert Previews America's 'Season Finale' With Over-the-Top Ad

According to Donald Trump's campaign, running for president is just like a reality show.

In anticipation of the most exciting Republican National Convention ever, the Trump campaign has already begun compiling a list of who has endorsed the presumptive GOP presidential nominee in the hopes that they’ll want to get involved.

Paul Manafort, Trump’s campaign manager, even called the presidency “the ultimate reality show” earlier this month on MSNBC, but wants to make the experience “entertaining, but more importantly informative.”

“Trump knows how to create drama or maybe even tragedy," said "Late Show" host Stephen Colbert. “Yes, reality shows are entertaining, and more importantly, informative.”

Specifically, “one of the ways Donald Trump is treating the convention like a reality show is holding off announcing his running mate [because] 'Announcing the vice-presidential nominee before the convention is like announcing the winner of Celebrity Apprentice before the final show is on the air,'” according to one campaign source.

"It's an apt metaphor," says Colbert, considering it’s really "the season finale of America."

“I can’t wait to see the In Memoriam reel for liberty," Colbert mused.
