WATCH: Colbert Mercilessly Skewers Fox News Crackpot

The Colbert Report's star hilariously mocked a Fox News psychiatrist.

Stephen Colbert analyzed the government shutdown last night and then hilariously mocked a Fox News psychiatrist who tried to psychoanalyze President Obama’s position on the shutdown.

Fox News psychiatrist Keith Ablow said that Obama’s use of words like “hostage” during the shutdown to describe Republican tactics connotes a “victim mentality here and it really explains the president’s whole mentality and many of his policies.” Ablow went on to say that Obama’s negotiating posture could be traced back to being abandoned by his father. “Yes, Obama’s refusal to negotiate with Congress is just him getting back at his parents,” Colbert mockingly said. “We've seen this sad story too many times: African-American males without role models go onto become president and give everyone healthcare.”

Colbert then psychoanalyzed Ablow. “One must ask, how was he able to yank such an insightful diagnosis so smoothly from his ass,” said Colbert.  “He’s in an anal-retentive stage caused by his parents’ shaming him during potty time.”
